It's not a sunset. It's smoke from wildfires in British Columbia that is blocking the sun and causing this eerie effect. Please donate if you can via the Canadian Red Cross.
The Columbia Icefield is the largest in the Rocky Mountains in North America. This is a spectacular sight that you must visit. Dress warm!
A ground squirrel on the lookout. We took the Lake Louise Gondola up this mountain in hopes of seeing grizzly bears but no luck.
This here is Lake Minnewanka. The surroundings would have been spectacular but the wildfire smoke make the air very hazy.
One of our favourite places to visit. The Glacier Skywalk in Jasper is breathtaking as you can see how it's built into this natural wonder. We were lucky enough to see a family of mountain goats below us.
It sure looks like we are alone on this glacier :-)
We looked and we looked and we looked but no grizzly sighting. Slightly disappointed to be honest.
Lake Louise is another gorgeous must visit. Not enough words to describe how beautiful it is to look at.
We came specifically to take the Lake Louise Gondola up the mountain. We were told that wildlife sightings were quite common in this area so we had our fingers crossed.
These guys are everywhere but remember not to feed the wildlife. Not only will you be fined, you will also be disrupting nature. Please, have respect.
